Logitech Wireless Desktop MK700

It seems to be Logitech love today here at Technology and Tricks as we found out another gadget coming from the said company that will be coming out this month for the US and Europe.

The keyboard and mouse are two of the necessary input devices that you will need to use your computer. It's a wonder then that most PC users would focus on upgrading processors and graphic cards yet have really crappy keyboards or mice. Logitech is now offering a two in one release of their Logitech® Wireless Desktop® MK700, a wireless keyboard and mouse to reduce clutter behind or even in front of your PC.

Below are the keyboard's features:
  • Low-profile keyboard with Logitech® Incurve keys™: Concave keys position your fingers properly, and their softly rounded edges invite your fingertips to glide from key to key, hour after hour. Keys so comfortable, you’d think they were custom-made to fit your fingers.
  • Longer key travel: Not easily found on many low-profile and notebook keyboards, longer key travel improves comfort and your overall typing experience.
  • LCD dashboard: Gives you at-a-glance icon status of your battery, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock, and Num Lock, you won’t skip a beat while typing. * Keyboard battery life calculation based on an estimated 2,000,000 keystrokes/year in an office environment. User experience may vary. Mouse battery life may vary based on user and computing conditions.
Listed here is the mouse's benefits:
  • Cushioned palm rest: Feels so much better than hard plastic.
  • Sculpted mouse: Positions your hand and fingers comfortably and naturally.
  • Reliable connection: Logitech® Advanced 2.4 GHz wireless technology dramatically reduces interference with virtually no delays or dropouts.** Includes 128-bit AES keyboard encryption—one of the highest levels of security available. Get all the benefits of a cord, with the convenience of wireless. Range up to 30 feet (10 m).
So what are you waiting for? It's wireless and it's from Logitech, go get one!

Rainbow Keyboards and Panda Speakers

Welcome to the end of the week, it's been quite a doozy for most of us, and we would like nothing more than some cool news to bring us into the weekend, yes? No hacking or destroying certain mobile phones out there, but more on the positive or quirky note at least. We've got some colorful and cute news coming your way.

Alienware M17x: rainbow keyboards

If you remember our report on the laptop for hardcore PC gamers, the Alienware M17x, then you'd be pleased as peach to know that Gizmodo showed a picture on how cool it is to work or play with the M17x even in the dark:

Matt told me the Alienware's m17x notebook was blinged out like it "just landed on earth after a long trip from a planet populated entirely by a evolved race of disco lights". I guess this is what he was talking about.

Yes, the keyboards glow in the dark in the colors of the rainbow. Will it heighten your experience in fragging your enemy combatant or PKing your guild's enemies while on the field? We're not really sure how it makes it easier to play a game in the dark with such choices in colors, but we'll trust Alienware and hope they know what they're doing. If you can't trust Alienware to make your gaming experience much better, then whom can you trust?

Tired of the same old speakers to your laptop or mp3 player? Do you want to spruce it up? Need a conversation piece on your table? If you think that your laptop or mp3 speakers seem to be too bland for your funky tastes, then it would be best to check out the USB Mini Panda Speaker.

AK-39 Wearable Keyboard With Integrated Pointing Device

In critical situations, instant and reliable communication is imperative. iKey's new AK-39 keyboard is designed to be worn on the arm, providing a simple, compact human interface device (HID) that doesn't restrict a soldier's movement.

The ruggedized, wearable keyboard is designed to meet MIL-461 standards and is intended for use in very harsh electromagnetic interference (EMI) environments. Its small-footprint design features all of the essential components for military applications, including a pointing device utilizing Force Sensing Resistor(TM) (FSR) technology with left- and right-button functionality, and adjustable green LED backlighting that is also available with night vision (NVIS) compatibility.

"The AK-39 is the most functional and versatile wearable keyboard available with robust EMI performance," Pete Fuselier, iKey's engineering manager, said. "And because it is designed and built to the high standards of iKey products, it is ruggedized to withstand harsh environmental conditions, such as rain, dirt and extreme temperatures."

The AK-39 is built with a USB cable that is available in both left- and right-arm configurations. Its lightweight plastic case easily adheres onto a Velcro arm strap that is sized to fit over bulky combat clothing, and has a curved back for arm comfort. The strap is available in two styles: one that affixes directly over the forearm, and one that includes a thumb loop for added stability.
